Silvia Di Gregorio
Associate professor
I am an Associate Professor (maîtresse de conférences) at the Sorbonne Paris Nord University,
where I teach at the IUT de Villetaneuse.
I am part of the Algorithms and Combinatorial Optimization group (AOC)
at the Northern Paris Computer Science Lab (LIPN).

I co-organize DOTs, a virtual seminar series supported by the Mixed Integer Programming Society (MIPS). Find out more about it and join us!
Bio
I obtained my B.Sc. degree in Mathematics at the University of Parma in 2014
and my M.Sc. degree in Mathematics at the University of Padova in 2016.
After that, I worked under the supervision of Alberto Del Pia
at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery.
In 2020 I received my Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Then, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Faculty of Computer Science at TU Dresden
                  with Bjoern Andres.
I moved to the Sorbonne Paris Nord University in September 2023.

Research
My research interests lie in Discrete Optimization, mainly focusing on Nonlinear Combinatorial Optimization.
I am interested both in the theoretical foundations of the field, as well as in the specific problems that arise from applications in computer vision and machine learning.
